Imagine large stone signs in 3 languages… Menominee (an endangered Algonquian language spoken by the historic Menominee people), Spanish and English. All are situated in a small, wooded park with 23 hand-forged metal forest animals lovingly placed and hidden along this trail making it feel a bit mystical. We could only find 18 of the 23 hidden animals on my visit!
The Alpine Shores Park Grace Trail has meandering trails, a footbridge, a roofed kiosk and contemplative benches for the Trail users. This Custom Grace Trail includes audio (from QR codes on signs) from Anne Jolles, creator of GraceTrail, deepening the experience of your walk.
These Grace Trails were created with a dedicated community effort, and are intended to inspire trail users to self-reflection, resilience, overall wellness, and community connection. Janis “Matty” Mathison is the Shawano resident, along with her extensive team of volunteers and organizations, who co created, directed and installed this beautiful Trail.
This Grace Trail® has been installed under a license Agreement from Grace Trail, Inc.
